Communication in dating and marriage
If we can communicate better—meaning more clearly and concisely—then we can forge deeper emotional connections, resolve conflicts, and strengthen the bonds in our marital relationship. Brinley, a Church member who is a marriage and parenting specialist, wrote about three levels of communication in relationships: superficial, personal, and validating.Following are some ways that each of us can improve the quality of communication in our relationships. In order for a deep bond to form between a husband and a wife, there needs to be a balance between all three. As a marriage and family counselor, I often visit with couples to help them repair or strengthen their relationships. In one instance, I met with a woman who had been married to her husband for only a few months, and she told me that they were having major communication problems.Adam and Eve did not have a long courtship; Eve was only about four verses old when Adam married her.
I know that communication in my marriage is not good. What would you consider, "if a couple can't talk about this, that and that" then communication in their relationship is in trouble? And that's especially hard during a "heated" conversation.Too many times we hear something and then are so wrapped up in forming our own rebuttal that we tune out of what's said after that. You should be able to discuss anything with each other and feel safe doing so.There was no question who would be the first couple, and I assure you upon God’s Word, God’s plan for you can be just as definite. “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” (Paul is setting a background to say that people have chosen deliberately to look away from God.) We continue with verse 21, “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Don’t sit around waiting for a boy to make you a priority, communicate his intentions, or even call you on the phone. And this God created and rules his world, including men, women, the biological compulsions that bind them together, and the institution that declares their union and keeps it sacred and safe.
